Understanding Place Value 'Clip and Flip' Cards for 5th grade contains 48 self-correcting cards to help students practice comparing the values of adjacent digits in multi-digit numbers and decimals.

These task cards were designed to specifically support Common Core standard 5.NBT.A.1: Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.

Note: Half of the cards practice this skill with whole numbers and the other half of the cards practice this skill for decimals. That way, you can differentiate the cards for your students!

On top of being aligned to the standards and differentiated, these Understanding Place Value 'Clip and Flip' Cards are so simple for students to use! Students use clothespins or paper clips to clip the answer to the question on the card. Then, they flip over the card to check their answer.
