Welcome to Games 4 Gains! I'm Brittney, and I'm so glad that you're here. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. Here are some things about me that have shaped what I bring to you here at Games 4 Gains:
I taught 5th grade (all subjects) in Prince George's County, Maryland... I even taught a classroom of all boys for one year. During my time in the classroom, I saw the power of using lots of games to practice and review concepts, particularly in math. In 2010, my students achieved the highest mathematics scores in the school since 2003, with 83% achieving a rating of proficient or higher (up from 54% the previous year). After achieving those gains, I served as the K-6 Math Coordinator for our school.
I developed and managed the teacher recruitment and training program for Bridge International Academies, which educates the children of families living on $2 per day, and is now the world's largest chain of private primary and pre-primary schools. During my three years there, the company expanded from 35 academies serving approximately 5,000 students to 303 academies serving approximately 100,000 students. My team trained over 6,000 new teachers from 2012-2014.
After spending the past 5 years working in education, I know that teaching is no easy task. From lesson plans and standardized testing to classroom management and IEPs, there's always an endless amount of things to do.
When I created Games 4 Gains, I wanted to make your jobs just a little bit easier (and hopefully a bit more fun). That is why Games 4 Gains offers a variety of classroom learning games that are easy to implement and fun to use.
